Sit down as family at meals

Do you sit down together as a family for meals at home?

Growing up in Kingston, during the week Mommy and the children would sit down together for dinner. Daddy came home later and would usually eat his dinner with Mommy in front of the TV. As a family, we always sat down together for Sunday dinner.

I continued the tradition of Sunday dinner when our children were younger. Now we only sit down together when all are in town or a special occasion or holiday.

What is your tradition, past and present?

when i was a kid...dinner was a 6:30. period. everyone around the table.
on the weekends breakfast and dinner was around the table.

as an adult....

we eat at the table together mainly on weekends and holidays. our schedule is so varied, it is so hard to coordinate it more frequently.

i miss it sometimes....the memories...oh the memories.

at our house, we dont do enuf sit down together meals. when we do it is special, though. we should do it more, it really strengthens the family.

my mother insists on all the family getting together for sit down meals at big occasions like thanksgiving and christmas.

In the past it was dinner together every day and on weekends breakfast together. Sunday dinner was always together.... with my own family...it was dinner together everyday......now that children are older.......when in town it is together and on special occasions be it breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We used to sit down together, son off to college now. Miss the old days.

during the week it is a hit or miss...sometimes we do sometimes we don't ....on weekends when big pot run, particularly on a saturday we all have meals together.

Growing up we always had breakfast around the table with Mom, as well as supper mon - sat being supper, sunday was Dinner... always something roasted and or stuffed!!
Now I barely sit at my own table, but is juss me alone. Many family holidays we get together but it's always buffet style cos there are so many of us now!!
