Fram mi a pickney till now, mi madda always mek mi wash di rice (specially wen it nay nuff) caah shi sey mi han swell rice. Nutten goh so?

A mean, di rice swell up yes, but dat noh jus come fram natural steaming??

It swell more because if the difference in the amount of water added to the rice.
If you want it to be straight grained and not fluffy.
just add enough water to cover the raw rice and cover it.
