Peanut Soup

I saw this post on another board and they had a link to the Gleaner for Peanut Soup..

Has anyone ever made it?

I am going to give it a try, after googling some recipes, I will probably take what I like from each of them.

i have had peanut stew made by some nigerian friends - sounds similiar

I have only had a peanut based gravy in Thai food. I really was leery about tasting it, but it was quite good. Be sure and report back and post one of your lovely pics when you test it out.

Peanut porridge in Ja, is made with raw peanuts & sometimes raw oats or flour, combined with sweetened condensed milk & spices like nutmeg & vanilla ....most peanut soups are made with roasted peanuts or peanut butter....if they taste ANYTHING like the peanut sauce that is used for dipping chicken satay, I would be totally in love with them!

Wow...

This soup is the best ever...

I used part recipes from Jamaican soups...Caribbean, Congo and Spicy African recipes.


After cooking and simmering...and adding the crucial crunchy peanut butter...this soup is ;ooking damn good....

After a bowl or two...

This peanut vegetable soup...was awesome. I am not a big, puree type of soup person, and I like my veggies whole.

The recipe is still in my head...but I will post it tomorrow, I promise...

Finally got a chance to write out the recipe and post it on my blog.

The soup was delicious...I just finished a bowl at the office...yuummmm... Give it a try and let me know how it turns out.

Just taste peanut sporridge couple months...don't think i can stomach teh soup. but mi woudl appreciate a nice detailed porridge recipe

It looks &amp; sounds delicious to me, Sprat! Think my hubby would eat it too since it's not pureed (although I like pureed soups with croutons)

Many African dishes are made with peanuts &amp; some delicious Thai dishes also.....I'm going to try it when I have some guests &amp; can get all the ingredients....thanks!

Can't imagine the Gleaner is too far off the mark, if the soup is loved by many...but not everyones cup of soup for sure!

But as in life...to each their own!
