Cupcake vs. Muffin

So me de a Kenya and look a sintin sweet wid me afternoon tea and me see some muffin weh look nice so me ask de lady what's inside de muffin dem?

She tell me, nuh sah a nuh muffin dat. Is cupcake. And she point to some cake looking thing telling me 'those are muffins'. So me get the cupcakes that fayva muffins and all now me confuse.

LMAO magix. muffins are usually more plain, less sugar, not as sweet as cupcakes, no frosting or fillings and dem ting deh. used to be that muffins might have something healthy in them, like bran or (real) fruit --

but these days the two are almost one and de same since so many 'muffins' are gettin all stooshified now with chocolate chips and and cream filling and loaded with sugar. no bodda yuself, it doesn't really matter what they're called, they pretty much the same thing anymore.

a cupcake is a min1 cake so the texture is lighter than a muffin

Well my cupcake had all bread a fruit bits inna it and it taste nice. But I've had muffins that were identical to it.

So maybe de lady was right after all, and all de mercan airport shops that sell same said cupcakes and false advertise dem as muffins should be lock up!
