Ok my first "drop by" is tonight and the next one is Saturday. Even though it seems like it would be easier to just have a housewarming and done, is not everyone from work (or even mi dept) me would want to invite and you know how office politics stay is like kindergarten you can't invite some and not the rest. Soo it is just easier for the ones I'm cool with to visit on their own.

So the one tonight a come during dinner time so she luck out cause me a cook curry chicken fi mi dinner so she will be offered some of that.

The one saturday fi har man is a chef so I tink dem should bring food when dem come

Both of them say they bringing me a bottle of wine to toast the house so technically dem not coming wid dem two long hands.

Sue I am in Texas dem nu have dem food deh...

How about cutting up some raw carrots &amp; celery &amp; serve with humus dip....you can buy in the refrig. section of the grocery store already made up in lots of flavors....healthy &amp; tastes good!

Buy a carton of sour cream &amp; some Liptons onion soup mix &amp; make a dip to serve with potato chips.

Buy a jar of salsa &amp; serve with tortilla chips or homemade guacamole.

Make up your own or buy one fruit plate with fruit cut up &amp; spear with cocktail pics.

All of these ideas are easy &amp; quick....also the cheese &amp; crackers thing is always good, especially with wine or beer!

I am a fan of dip. you can make it ahead of time and store in the fridge.

plain yogurt (drain 3 hours on a very,very fine stainer...cheese cloth is better)
onion mix, ranch mix or whatever mix you like
mix.

serve with veggies or chips.

works well with beer and wine.

apart from a water and ice...

just have your fridge stocked with some soda and beer.

i don't think drop by visitors are looking for food but giving them a cold beer, soda or mix up some rum and coke is good.

If I were going to do a random drive by to someone who had just moved, then I'd take something as opposed to expecting to be given something.

But to get off my soapbox and answer the question, I would keep drinks (soda, juice, and alcohol) and snack food (chips, crackers, veggies, and dip) cold. I would not worry about cooked food at all unless it was meal time in which case they would be most welcome to eat whatever I was already cooking.
