Turkey Necks

You ever cook something sweet you so that you had to tell somebody? Well, that's what is happening now.

Simple meal - just turkey necks, rice, and cabbage. One of the tastiest meals I have cooked in a long time. I'm very pleased so I had this outburst to speak on it.

I like 'boney' tings so I used to cook turkey neck, haven't in a while though and a couple a times I put the smoked turkey neck in my stew peas, it did taste good.

The smoked ones some good seasoning meat indeed!

LOL. Wasn't really no special recipe.

I browned them a lil bit in some canola oil first.
Then I added some onion, garlic, bell pepper, and scallion.
Next I put in a lil flour and let that brown and then added some chicken broth and water.

I'm going to assume we know that I seasoned them before I browned them, but I also added some cayenne pepper and worcestershire sauce to the gravy.

Put a lid on the pot and sat down. LOL.

Oh and I always use low sodium broth. I usually have enough other stuff I add that I can't spare the extra salt.

I wonder if they make chicken broth with no sodium and how it would taste. Hmm.

I must try the turkey neck the way Tulip says she did it. Guess I can always fool myself that it is oxtail

Girl, they were so good over that rice. Plus the cabbage had a lil crunch to it. Texture and flavor were in unison and on point.

I try a lot of dishes, but it is comforting to know that sometimes when you are barely trying to do a thing that it turns out so good.
