Question:

how many days can i leave seasoned meat w/o cooking it??

mi season some chicken last friday an waan know if will it still be good to cook on today or mi fi dash it weh??

an if mi waan season a bunch a meats a head a time, would it be better to put it in freezer until mi ready fi cook it?

u should be ok if u cook it today. pay attention to the "packed on" and "freeze by" dates and dat will tell u how long u can leave meats in the fridge. i would say 2-3 days is ok.

a while back smaddy on here said the season their meat and then freeze it. i tried it and it works good.

if u ago buy the meat a season it rite away den i would think ita good for a long time. however long u normally keep meat fah. i dont think u should thaw season an den re-freeze doe.

if is a week and is chicken it will taste "off". beef seems to be the one thing that holds up to being a week or more in the fridge, seasoned or unseasoned, without tasting spoiled. pork doesn't hold up well either.

i've never seasoned and frozen something, but i know others who do it on a regular.

I asked a butcher how long I can keep unseasoned meat in the <span style="font-weight: bold">fridge </span>and he said 3 days. I imagine if you season it, it can stay a little longer. Sometimes when I buy chicken in bulk, I clean them up, season them and throw them in the freezer for weeks.

yeh, i was wonderin about thawin out, seasoning, refreezing an then thawing it out again

Bizi I've been doing the season and freeze since dorm days as ... always did the seasoning before initial freezing ... just leave the onion out if you not cooking it in a week or so

i used to do that with chicken too. the flavour seems to go right into the meat.

I like the overnight seasoning in the fridge on meat, but nothing gets in there like seasoning it before you freeze it. I do it sometimes, but the major issue is that I don't always have the taste for what I seasoned it with. Therefore, I am more likely to season and place in the fridge overnight. For all meat, I have about a two day maximum for sitting in the fridge.

There have been some exceptions like garlic pork, but in general it is two days and cook or toss it.

Tulip, dat a my issue to, I will season it one way and then won't want it that way when a time fi cook it

I cooked the chicken last night....it sho did smell good, but mi neva even did ha nuh appetite fi eat...mi always end up a waste food
