Noodles

if this has been discussed...forgive me and then find the link to the post.

Mi looking some alternatives to the usual "Whole Wheat" Pasta. I've been told that there are some really excellent asian varieties outside of Ramen (which are ). So come with them please. I am heading to the Asian Market this afternoon.

I think you might make out better looking at Italian recipes.

My intro to ramen noodles was during college when they were around 5 or 10 cents a pack. I mixed them up with every veggie, meat, and cheese possible to come up with tasty dishes. As I understand it, the things we buy i the packs are fried and dried so not very healthy. However, they sell the ramen noodles un-fried as well.

As a general rule, I prefer rice over noodles in my Asian dishes and don't find that many of them include a healthy noodle but a bleached white flour thing. I think you need to worry more about what you're cooking with your whole wheat pasta to give you some variety in taste.

Aside from the shiritake noodles that are low in carbs, I'm not sure what extra benefis you'd get.

mi peeps the package ahn it have 0 fat and 8 grams of protein.
mi use it tonight in place of regular spaghetti noodle/pasta.

I have never tried soba noodles. I'll look for them if they got you doing headspins lol.

My favorite pasta is the fresh kind, not dried. Pretty much the only kind they sell in my area is the bleached white flour type. They taste good something serious though.

I considered buying a pasta making, but I know that is going to be a waste of money. I won't follow through with making more than twice probably.

First of all they are made from a sliced up root I believe. The juice they pack them in smells like fish. If you don't seriously rinse them with strong intent, then nothing at all can work out with them in my opinion. They are low in carbs, but that's about all they have going for them.
