I'm serious as one heart attack with this question. I bought some green tomatoes in August. Right now, I really cannot remember whether i bought them from Kroger or Publix, but I am trying to relax so I can get some recall.
Anyway, my intent was to fry them. For anyone who is not familiar, fried green tomatoes are a popular southern dish. Alright, so I moved last month and things got so busy that I did not get around to frying them before I moved. My usual issue when I delay is that they ripen. It's not the biggest issue ever because it just means I use them in salads as opposed to my original intent.
It's going on a month now and they are still as firm and green as the day I bought them. I am keeping them basically for observation purposes at this point, but that doesn't sound like a special case of odd?
What have they sprayed on these friggas to keep them from getting ripe? I'm kind of [censored] off and once I figure out where I bought them from, that store is cut off.
