Yes, she repeats the same jingle our ancestors taught us: <span style="font-style: italic">one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, and four of weak</span>. Here is Enid Donaldson summarized, page 141:

To this basic recipe, you may add a pinch of salt, some grated nutmeg, or 6 pimento berries. Bottle and cork well. The mixture improves with age, so mix it early before ready to use and allow it to mature.

I made three batches over the Holidays and they were good. I am sticking with this recipe ... just remind me next year when I ask again!
