It use to be 10%, then it went up to 15%, then it shot up to 18%, now I go out to dinner tonight and one of the choices when paying with debit card is to leave a <span style="font-weight: bold">20%</span> tip.

Bad and not too bad if the servers receive it but many times they don't...they had fined a restaurant owner here [thousands] for scamming thousands of dollars from the servers...the money left as tips on credit cards...
...In Ja when dem added the tip to the bill, I always leave another cash tip for the servers, for somehow I didn't believe that they were getting that money...but I digress...sorrie. -

the local channel did one of those undercover investigations on several restaurants here.
yeah, thousands of bucks not getting to servers. i always leave cash.Comment

I get annoyed when i hear people saying that tip is 20% and up and anything else is cheapness.
why it gone up from 15% ..don't the price a the food a go up too?

yeh a lot of the management is claiming that the tip should be shared with management. funny no one has ever tipped me for doing my job.
