Much easier than dealing with the mess and just as good as any commercial fruitcake.

Ingredients:
One jujube (very chewy gelatinous candy piece)
One brick

Glue jujube to brick.
When glue has set wrap and give as a gift.
No one who has ever eaten those horrible things will notice the difference.

I don't know how the tradition keeps going. You know somebody really, really doesn't like you if you get a fruitcake.

It's a re-gifters dream item. I'm pretty sure the last one I got had been passed around for at least 10 years. The plastic wrap looked like it had two or three good years left in it, but I put it out of its misery in the trash bin.(it was the heaviest item in there. Guess I should have used my non-super duper garbage disposal but I was scared it would act like a bone.)
