Skelly,
This reminds me of something that happened when I worked at Lowe's.
We had a third party delivery company and on most days had two-three crews come in. On this one day we had a crew led by a Jamaican guy who had a bad attitude. Of course all the crews groaned when they had to handle any of the huge Samsung refrigerators and on this one particular day, the head receiver came around a corner unexpectedly and saw the Jamaican crew chief whacking one of the (specially ordered) big Samsungs with a hammer to dent it so he wouldn't have to deliver it.
That was his last day on the job and I guess someone got a good deal on a big dented Samsung refrigerator.
You would be amazed at the number of dented and scratched appliances that show up from the rough handling and loading practices from the Lowe's warehouse to the individual stores. At the Lowe's I worked at, these would be marked down 10-20% if they were not returnable for credit and put out on the weekends. Good deals since a dent on the side of a washer, dryer, range, fridge often does not show once in place.
SO..... next time you need an appliance, go to your local Lowe's or Home Depot appliance department and slip one of the salesman a ten to have him call you when something that you need shows up in the dented selection.
