How much brown sugar?

I want to make this cake. But, I would rather use regular brown sugar. How much would you use?

Awesome Oatmeal Cake
A very moist and very yummy treat which is excellent for busy hungry girls on the go! Stays moist for days just sitting on my counter.I like to cut into squares for an easy to grab breakfast.I got this recipe somewhere thru Weight Watchers.

2 Cups Oatmeal

1.5 teaspoons Baking powder

¼ Cup Brown Sugar Substitute

1 teaspoon Cinnamon(I use pumpkin pie spice)

2 mashed Bananas (small to medium)

1 Egg White

1 Whole Egg

1 Cup Skim Milk

½ Cup Applesauce

1 teaspoon Vanilla

Mix the Dry Ingredients in a Bowl

Wet Ingredients in another Bowl

Add Wet to Dry and stir

Pour into a 8x8 Pam Sprayed Pan

In a 350 degree Oven

Bake for 40 minutes

Until edge is brown and pick comes out clean.

The opposite is true.

Refined sugar is actually sweeter than raw sugar (brown sugar).

The molasses that is removed is not as high in sucrose content as what is left in the refined sugar.
Brown sugar is more satisfying though. That is because it contains digestive enzymes that has to be removed to redfine the sugar.

Otherwise it would start digest when used into other products.

I made it with light brown sugar. It is not bad. It is not too sweet and has a consistency similar to cornmeal or sweet potato pudding. I had a piece for breakfast and was not hungry for a few hours.

Next time I will use dark brown sugar.

i have made with both the light and dark brown sugar. It is better with the dark brown sugar.

So now you wont be eating for more than just a few hours....cake seems mighty fullfilling and nice....I bet some one else there is licking his fingers yummy good.

Darker sugar retains more iron than the refined.
Mollasses an after product of sugar cane processing is rich in iron and probably Vitamin B.
Try a spoonful in your next porridge and tell me how nice it is, please.

I will try using dark browns sugar in porridge. It has to be healthier than sugar substitutes.
