I was in the Caribbean market last Friday and saw two types of green bananas. They were labeled "dark green bananas" for 50 cents per lb. and "green bananas" for 79 cents per lb. I was confused. So I asked a store employee what was the difference? He said the cheaper bananas were older

I even use them to make a salad....similar to tata salad....nice
They were very very firm and slightly smaller than the other green bananas. Reminds me of the good boiling green bananas my mother used to get from St. Mary.
