Cassava - don't forget that there are two types of cassava (bitter cassava - the one used to make starch and bammies is poisonous(sp) and the sweet one [the one that is boiled] is not poisonous(sp).

lol. that's actually one of my favourite meals on a sunday morning, though i have to make do with canned ackee and frozen bammy.

ackee is a thing tho that even if u prepare it properly, can give u an upset stomach if u not careful. for a while i couldnt eat canned ackee, gave me a severe bellyache, it happened after i came back from living a year in jamaica where i ate natural ackee.

my mother who has a lot of food allergies and doesnt eat ackee as much as i do, went to jamaica this past spring and found she couldnt eat ackee anymore.

the toxins that are in ackee are pretty strong, i guess.

Read the article, that Italian cheese dish with the live maggots was probably the most shocking on the list.
