ILP, you ever tasted bratwurst? I admit I didn't until accidentally at a work cook-out one day. It tastes good!
It appears boiling in beer before grilling is one of the most popular ways of cooking it. It doesn't taste bad that way, but I prefer water with garlic, onions, spicy pepper, and a dash of vinegar. After that, grill it or broil it in the oven.
Slap it in a bun with mustard (my preference) or whatever condiments you like and you might feel why they are fans of it.
I have and found that I am generally not a fan of meat in casings. So more times when given the option to eat them and something else...I gonna choose the something else.
I used to be real anti-link until di current mr ilp took me to the butcher. And I watched him pick the cut of meat then had it ground mixed with spices and peppers and then added to the casing. I still dont eat much casing food, but I have graduated to chirizo (sp) and some sausages.
Lines too long for tapas and the steakhouse (which is what I was aiming for)
So far mi eat
Beef kabobs
zeppoli (wid sugar on top)
half of mi jerk food
most of the decent foods had lines from here to Idaho. Mi pass bout 3 jerk spot and di lines long from here to Aruba. Finally as mi about to turn off guh mi yard I see a lonely likkel jerk stall. I could barely see the name so mi almost walk pass it. OMG soooooooo good.

LOL. I understand because I'm not a big fan of sausage either. I think if you can take chorizo then you can take on bratwurst with a smile. I like Italian sausage too and sometimes take it out of the "casing" and mix it with my ground turkey or beef when making spaghetti or lasagna.
