While cleaning out my cellar shelves this morning, for the painter, I came across three quarts of mixed fruits soaking for black cake from several years ago... I think they're 6 or 7 years old. They're still completely immersed in the rum, in mason jars. I still remember being so upset at the mysterious 'loss' of my fruits that year of no black cake... dwl
Are they still good to use?
I also have three quarts of mixed peel that have been soaking for one year, that I put up last year, so I can still make black cake if unnu don't think the old fruits safe any more.
What do unnu think?
