Italians do Christmas Eve BIG-big, and they do nothing at all on Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve was the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes. Fried and boiled shrimp. Steamed clams, Eels. Octopus. Squid. Mussels. Macaroni (pasta and tomato sauce). Italian bread. Gardiniere (pickled vegetables). And for desserts - Italian cheesecake, fried dough strips with powdered sugar, and honey balls.
Christmas Day supper was just a regular supper. Roast beef and assorted leftovers from the night before.
