Mac and Cheese Recipe Thread

Mine is below. You'll have to figure out the exact amounts...

• macaroni
• shredded mild cheddar (mild melts better than sharp)
• finely grated onion or onion powder
• black pepper to taste
• and my secret ingredient ...

I do this one for family gatherings (national holidays...chrismus...thanksgiving,so not every day...as it fulla cheese..butter..sour cream). I bake it instead of using crockpot. Where the recipe seh to use a crockpot, I melt and combine everything in a big pot on the stove and then sprinkle cheese on the top and put it in the oven



Ingredients

• 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (an 8-ounce box isn't quite 2 cups)
• 4 tablespoons (1/2 stuck) butter, cut into pieces
• 2 1/2 cups (about 10 ounces) grated sharp Cheddar cheese
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup whole milk
• 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Boil the macaroni in a 2 quart saucepan in plenty of water until tender, about 7 minutes. Drain. In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts. In a slow cooker, combine cheese/butter mixture and add the eggs, sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper and stir well. Then add drained macaroni and stir again. Set the slow cooker on low setting and cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

My children are adults now and they still love my M&C recipe. They request it when we are all together in the same place. And the child who is out of state wants me to bring Crema Salavdorena when I visit. I think girlfriend is taking notes

I make mac n cheese once, maybe twice a year. When I do, it's usually a five cheese mac. Also, I top it with slightly crispy bacon bits.

Just thinking about it makes me feel fat... and happy...

Love baked macaroni and cheese! I use diced onion, skellion, evaporated milk, mild and sharp cheddar and crushed seasoned croutons.

Well oonuh showing me up. My Mac and cheese is quite simple.

Elbo pasta
milk (dairy if I have it. Almond if I don't)
butter
grated chcheddar

I generally do it on stove top but sometimes I will put it in the oven with a little extra cheese on top.

add cream of mushroom soup in there for an extra smoothy. i use real cheese and evap milk. it's extra creamy and artery clogging.
