is mi anty mi grow wid. honestly she would *brown* the meat that nice brown colour - put in about a cup of water and then turn the heat down, put in all the seasonings that she scraped off the meat which was soaking overnight in the seasonings. when it was reduced, she would take the sauce - mix a bit of powder (like 1 tsb) of flour to about 1/2 cup of cold water (have to stress cold water) and then make the gravy it was yummy.
Her baked turkey gravy was the best because all the drippings make the gravy in the same way - she used to use that horrible rubbie sherry to baste the bake chicken, duck, cornish hens, turkey, the neighbour's racing pigeons, etc. it was delicious.
