Gungo peas porridge

Has anyone heard of this type of porridge? I heard someone discussing it on Stepping Razor show and I'm intrigued to try it. Apparently, you boil the peas and then add cornmeal. Sweeten to taste and that's it. Has anyone tried it?

this come in like when mi hear bout a guy who put peanut in his pumpkin soup..it did sound kinda weird but when i actually had it it very nice

That reminds me of the time my mother, who is legally blind, made rice and peas using red peas that were in a jar on the kitchen counter. Turned out they were not red beans but whole peanuts with the red skins. She kept wondering how the peas were so tough after boiling them for a long time? Anyway, according to my sister the rice n peanuts turned out delicious with the fricasee chicken

yes, peanuts are tasty in savoury dishes. love african peanut chicken. also had boiled peanuts in nigeria (they call them ground nuts), they were pretty good.

yay peanuts too bad they can be so deadly for some people.
