that Gabrielle Union show "Being Mary Jane"? There's going to be a marathon b/c the finale is coming up and so I caught glimpses and got a little bit into it. But the commercials have women saying, "Im Mary Jane because...". One of them is B/c "I love sex"
Well MaryJane loves sex, but its sex with another womans husband! She is presented as this career woman whos's got it together, aiming high and trying to find love. And now its with a married guy. (SHe didnt know when they started out). But the kicker is- the way she forced the issue is- *she* told the wife. This eventually led wife to confronting guy- they tried counseling, then apparently guy chose MJ, and then he was going to move out of the marital house and he and MJ ended up living together.
Anyway It was the telling that I found interesting. Well that plus how her behavior is so *accepted* for want of a better word. Because, after she told wife- wife stunned her with a response of "Yes and? So you're sleeping with him and what do you expect my reaction to be? He's been my husband for x years, the father to our children... Now what?"
And then after that MJ and the hubby just couldnt get enough of each other- every episode was them drawn to each other in some romantic entanglement. WHile he was torn between family and MJ. And then he finally left the family and we're supposed to root for that maybe? yeah
What do you think about the mistress telling the wife about the affair? How about this wife/s response And by the way wife at first wanted a divorce it seemed and would fight for sole custody of the kids, then I missed a couple of episodes, because next they were in counseling??- and then lotsa changes. Anyway. finally
Do you think the MaryJane character is one for Black girls or any girl/woman to emulate? Do you like that "I'm MaryJane because... (I thiink there was even one about a vibrator Hmmmm
