Spinoff of "where do I meet him" thread: are these sites really a good place to meet friends, date, whatever?

I am on tagged, and while some people appear normal, others see your pic and send messages about puttin their 11 inches in various places, and other things you can't say on a g rated board. This pick up attempt works?

Serenity doesn't say she is a 28 yr old virgin in her profile or she will get all kinds of de-flowering propositions.
