I have always said to both my children, DO YOU! I have done the best job I can, so now it is up to them to choose their own path, however, every so often I get the odd DIFFICULT question.
She thinks JEFF (of 3 months) does not spend enough time "grooming" and she, being a clean freak is very concerned and is having a difficult time with getting it across to him.
The previous issue of not washing his hands upon entering the house (even after being very active on the baseball, basketball or football field) has been resolved after she's managed to convince him that her "sensitive" skin reacts badly to the grime. LOL
Now, her latest issue (as explained by her) is the fight they had recently, after he visited her, hopped on her bed and refused to a) take a shower or b) remove his "street clothes". She said that his response was, "I don't feel like showering tonight". To make things worse, if he showers at night, he will not shower before going to work in the morning and it is making her crazy.
She disagrees when I told her that I think the younger generation is just not as serious or careful about their hygiene as in MY time, so I don't know what to say. I did promise to put it out here and get some feedback though.
Any thoughts? Are men and women today less concerned with taking showers, washing their hands etc. before feeling up/touching/eating food etc?
