Just got a frantic text message from the sperm donor. It says "I have now tried to call the child support office 15 times. I really need your help please!"
Ok, to briefly rehash-
Baby Daddy feels he is being robbed by ME because he has to pay child support. He says its unfair and NOW that they've taken his federal and state tax refunds, he's beyond angry. Nevermind that they took them because he is several thousands in arrears. AND he found out through a job employment background search, there is a WARRANT for his arrest for back child support. Somehow, this is ALL my fault.
As I've told him over the last 12 years, he has the right to contest it if he feels it is too much, that they have taken his money in error, etc. I've given him the contacts to the local child support office, the state central office and the local clerk of court so he can file a motion.
So just for giggles, I called the central state office to ask if they was another protocol to follow to ask for a review or to request a stop of the court order. You know, just to make sure I was giving the right information. The CSR says the info I had was correct and even double checked the phone numbers for me.
I thanked her and said "Yeah, my ex said he's called you all 15 times and no one will help him."
She said "Ma'am, we have to log every phone call we take in regards to specific cases and he has not called and spoke to anyone here."
I just shook my head and thanked her for her time.
So my question is, if child support is so unfair, and based on misinformation, etc, why not take the proper steps to correct it? And why lie and say that you tried when you haven't? It seems to me that the non-custodial parents (notice I did not say MEN) constantly want to cry they've been wronged but they either make the situation worse by not paying it or not taking the legal steps to correct it.
Cry me a river.
