A good woman takes care of her man, by ensuring household duties are done (maybe shared between the two? ), what's your opinion of the man's role in the relationship?

As Blackstar said, what does the man bring to the home nowadays? If a couple is in a committed relationship, whether married or not- the woman is charge of the house and chores, and the man ___________ (fill in the blank)

The man does all the handy work around the house....changes bulbs, fixes the broken door, washes the cars. He <span style="font-weight: bold">brings </span>home the money to take care of the bills...I take that money and pay the bills.

Thats the way it used to be, but now that women are doing all those tasks AND working outside the home, what happens with the money she makes?

And since women have added new role (outside job), what have men added?&gt; I just cant see our Ja.com men sitting with remote in hand while wifey bustles about..

So true- I dont see those duties being handled by naybody else! Don't even mention the potential insect Somebody has to do recon of the room before we enter!

My husband is the oldest of 5 kids and his mother taught the boys as well as the girls to help out around the house.

Exactly......

Agreed and if I have to use my money in the house then I expect him to help with my chores ... it's nice when i wash the clothes somebody puts them away and irons for all of us ... and since i hate doing the dishes I'll cook but if he cooks i'll do the dishes ... somebody has to read to the child and I'm not the only one who can read.

This gender role playing mess is silly, when things need to be done within the household there is no gender roles. If the trash needs to be taken out, I have no problem taking it outside. If he knows that I'm tired he has no problem with washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen. If I stayed home and didn't work that would be a different story, but when you both work you just step up and do what has to be done.

The gender role silly? I agree with you to a certain extent, but I also believe this is whats causing so much conflict between modern day man and woman.

And as for me being single.....

I'm single because I refuse to deal with a mans BS. Some women will deal with BS from a man just to say they have one....not me. 20 years of marriage is misery, just to say that they have a man......

And yes, I am old fashioned......

makes sure the TV never gets dusty...
makes sure the remote buttons never get sticky...
makes sure the remote still werks with sed TV...
