can't speak for anyone elses home...but I was raised with a very &quot;get it done&quot; attitude...I don't feel there is a specific gender role that people fall into. Food need fi cook, do it. Garbage need fi guh out, do it. Trees outside waan trim, do it. shirt buttn pop awf an waan sew back awn, do it. ladySPeng and I never had that battle over who is supposed to do what and why, only if I specifcally ask her to do something or vice versa.

Can't speak for all the men, but as one who is skilled in all areas I take of the areas that she is usually not skilled in. Those are usually thechnical in nature, maintenance inside and outside, such as, cars, lawn, home repairs, etc.

Mi noh care if shi wuk fi ah paycheck like mi tuh. Everyone MUST have an active roll in taking care of the home they live in. If yuh ah ooman yuh caa leave everything up to man, I can cook and wash very well, but usually don't. Wen mi partner can tek ova di heavy MANual jobs, or sick, den mi wi duh di other stuff. There is NO such thing as 50/50 in ah relationship. Usually you will hav one doing ah bit more dan the other. In mine, I will usually pull the majority of the responsibility (that includes making sure the bills gets paid on time).

I cook,I keep house tidy when its my day off,I tend the garden which is my domain,..my wife is not allowed to do anything in the garden except lie there and enjoy the sun and look beautiful,..no one touches my plants.

And as boundbrook suggests,.. I am in charge of insect extermination,as well as putting oil in her car,taxing it when its due,updating the insurance,....and general house maintenance.

I am a taxi driver to my daughter,school,her friends houses,4 times a week athletic training.

Having a 15 year old daughter means I`m also a teacher,a counsellor,a philosopher,a psychologist,a sociologist,a comedian,and an entertainer......sometimes all on the same day.

All that plus being the best lover in the world and a best friend to my wife,..........and sometimes all the above and more,...on the same day.

True, couples usually don't divorce over doing simple house chores. When both people work, both are equally tired at the end of the day. Now if I'm just at home and not working that's a different story.

Actually, I think they're both responsible for the house and chores and everything else in between. Individual strengths, time availability, work schedules, etc., should dictate how those responsibilities are divided up.
