ohhh. I read the post too fast b/c I was trying to work and iggle at the same time It just seemed to me that because she is chatting so much about the past that she may still be stuck in it.

So, your question is an universal one regarding ppl holding onto hate......I agree with her that she can eventually forgive but that has nothing to do with forgetting. Ppl think the two need to go hand in hand and I completely disagree. </div></div>

I don't think you should forget just b/c you forgave, or you couldn't learn and avoid situations in the future. My question was a universal one about giving up hate or trying to get revenge. Thanks for your thoughtful responses.

I see what you are saying now Dr Bones. I think we all need to to learn how to let go of hate.....I am the LAST person on earth to say that it is easy - just that it is necessary for internal peace. You are right. Holding onto it is poisonous to only yourself in the long-term. There are ppl who I dont know if I will ever achieve that with so take my comment with a grain of salt

As for revenge - I am a very good fantasizer of it but it really isnt in my to be revengeful - even when I have really hated a person. As much as I would love to draw blood on one particular person, I could never do it b/c I wouldnt want my spirit to be ANYTHING like theirs. So I guess for me it isnt a moral issue as it is more a pride issue. My pride wont let me get as ugly as them...come close ....but not exacltly like the person I hate.

but hasn't the other person already won since u acknowledge having hatred fi dem...hate an love r very powerful emotions....wid di negative connotation dat hate has, u already r as ugly as them if u have given in to hating dem...so all u seh before dat acknowledgement is fi nought...

I wass referring to revenge - that is where I dont want to be like them.

So what you are saying ties into my point about we have to all try to move thru hating a person and letting it go b/c it will consume you and you will eventually resemble the person/thing you hate.

It just isnt easy under all circumstances.

It is hard letting go of hate but in order to heal you have to find a way..

sometimes it is a matter of saying to yourself 'What was I meant to learn from this experience to be a better person' over &amp; over till you figure out the lesson and at that point the hate dissipates.

the negative energy given off, affects the body so better to quickly redirect it rather than let it seethe.

yup I agreee with you 100%. That is why you must try to let things go or at the very least accept that it has happened and find a way to use the experience as you stated above.
