well I would venture to still say no b/c you didnt have a real chance to connect with them. Family members are people too and I dont like or vibe with all people. Simple as that.
dont fret yourself because you need to have common ground to feel for a person and being related by blood isnt enough.

dat is what i am trying to figure out why I am not feeling it - cause I always thought of myself compassionate to those who need guidance.

anyway , ppl have to be open to your guidance and/or help and that is what I was thinking when I posted above. And your hesitation may be rooted in that they may not be in a place to accept help. But if you think they might be open for the guidance then still try in spite of your current feelings and see if those feelings begin to change. I think then the root of your sense of disconnect might reveal itself.
