I think the retarded person you are speaking of was a sister(?) of JFK, not child, that was institutionalized from young....not much was ever said about her, but I remember reading that somewhere.Comment

Yes, the Kennedy sister, Rosemary, had a lobotomy, she was born mentally retarded. They took out part of her brain to keep her in control when she was a young woman out of fear she'd get in trouble with men and disgrace the family.
