Two More Arrested In 'Swingers' Case

WINDSOR LOCKS — - A photo contest at a swingers event held inthe Beverly Hills Suites hotel bar in November landed the photographer and his wife in criminal court Thursday morning.
David Shadowfax, 49, and his wife, Tania, 37, turned themselves in to answer charges of being accessories to both obscenity and public indecency. Their arrests are the fifth and sixth tied to the Nov. 8 party at which, police said, people had sex in the hotel's bar, Club 91.
The two were released from custody after their arraignment at Superior Court in Enfield. They are scheduled to return to court on Jan. 16.
The couple led a game of "rings" at the November event attended by undercover local police and liquor control agents. The objective of the game was for a woman to grab the most men she could and get five sexy pictures taken with them, according to an arrest affidavit. According to his arrest affidavit, David Shadowfax has thousands of photos stored in his computer showing women, including his wife, engaging in sexual activity at one or more "swingers" parties.
"This is an example of police being over-zealous and having no respect for my clients' constitutional rights," said Gregory P. Cohan, the couple's attorney.
Cohan and attorneys for two other defendants held a press conference outside the courthouse, declaring that their clients did nothing illegal and questioned the reasons for the arrests.
"My client wasn't even there," said J. Patten Brown III, who represents hotel owner Sharok Jacobi.
Jacobi, 46, of Great Neck, N.Y., also has been charged with being an accessory to both obscenity and public indecency. He also appeared in Superior Court in Enfield Thursday and entered not guilty pleas.
Aaron J. Romano, defense attorney for Brian B. True, 42, the licensed permittee of Club 91, denied allegations that partygoers had sex in the bar and in the lobby. He said the bar was for mingling and that some people rented hotel rooms.
"This is the morality police, that's what it comes down to," Romano said.
During their November visit, authorities found some of the swingers engaging in oral sex and intercourse in the bar, and a photographer taking pictures, the arrest warrant states.
Nicholas Maulucci, the event's organizer, and his wife, Lisette, also have been arrested. Both were charged with public indecency and obscenity. Nicholas Maulucci is a manager of Hot Couples Parties LLC in Simsbury, which sponsored the event. He is also a state correction officer assigned to the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield. Details of the charges against Lisette Maulucci were not immediately available.
Police say that although the bar was closed to the public during the event, it is considered a public place because it has a liquor permit.
" Windsor Locks must be the most crime free place in the United States if the police have time to arrest people in a private setting for having relations with each other," Brown said.

Dem run it in di industrial pawt of town as not to be near anyone dat might raise a stink bout being near dem when dem carry on wid dem bizness. I hear the Halloween parties are supem else.Comment

I hear the Halloween parties are supem else. </div></div>Aren't they legal in Ont now? they have a few here in town as well and one I know is in the very industrial area. But it is very private and hard to get into. my understanding is that the owners can be charged with operating a common bawdy house.....but then comes the private club private property laws....Comment
