Controversial ex-boxer Mike Tyson unleashed a tirade of swear words in a CP24 interview just a day after he called Rob Ford the "best mayor in Toronto's history."

The former heavyweight champion of the world is in Toronto to perform his one-man show, "Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth" at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.
As part of his visit, he stopped in for an interview with CP24's Nathan Downer.
The interview was going pleasantly enough until Downer brought up Tyson's rape conviction.
Tyson then said, "It's so interesting that you come across like a nice guy but you're really a EDIT of EDIT"
Downer tried to point out that they were on live television but Tyson responded, "I don't care, what are you going to do about it?"

Mike Tyson freaked out on Canadian TV Wednesday, but not everything that was said was easy to understand. We're got you covered with this complete transcript of the memorable verbal battle between Tyson and CP24 anchor Nathan Downer.

Here is how Mike Tyson behaved in Toronto last night.

Downer: "Some of your critics would say, you know, there is a race for mayor, we know you're a convicted rapist, this could hurt his campaign. How would you respond to that?
Tyson: "Hey, um, I don't know who said that, you're the only one I heard say that. You know what I mean? And I don't have no comment to that. You know because it's negative and you're being negative and I met, I met the mayor and nothing they can do about it."

Tyson promoter Alex Choko: "We actually had a really good time, we talked about George Chuvalo, who is a legend in your city, a great man, with whom Mike spent quite a bit of time yesterday talking about his life, highs and lows..."
Tyson: "It's so interesting that you come across as a nice guy but you're really a piece of EDIT. With that comment"
Downer: "Hey, come on."

Tyson: "EDIT you, that was a piece of EDIT"
Downer: "You know what, we're doing live TV here."
Tyson: "I don't care. What are you going to do about it?"
Downer: "Alright, you got a show that you're doing tonight."
Choko interrupting: "We are. We are. it's raw and it's the real thing. It's the truth"
Downer: "A lot of people are going to be there to see your show. Just tell us a bit about it."
Tyson: "You know, it speaks for itself. Everyone saw the show."
Choko: "It's a Broadway production. It went to Vegas. It went to actually 28 cities in the United States and we're really, really proud to bring it here. We're actually going to Monaco on October 9th. We're going to be in Monte Carlo."
Downer: "Is it nerve-wracking for you to do something like this, or is it more nervous for you to box? How does it compare?"
Tyson: "I don't know, um, it's more nerve-wracking to be here talking to a rat piece of EDIT like you."
Downer: "Come on Mike."
Tyson: "You know, because you're a piece of EDIT.
Downer: "Alright..."
Tyson: "You really (inaudible) piece of EDIT."
Downer: "We're going to wrap up this interview. Thank you for coming in."
Tyson: "EDIT you."

There you have it, a real class act with an extremely limited vocabulary. He knows 2 words. Likely 3 at best. I'll bet he knows EDIT EDIT too.



Why was he even allowed in the country. We have Jamaicans who are denied entry for a lot less.

What’s most troubling is the way Tyson balances his misogyny toward all the “bad” women in his life against the saintly treatment accorded his late mother, sister and daughter.


They arrived late, they clapped a lot, they listened when they chose to.No doubt about it, the audience was the most interesting thing about Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, which played one sparsely attended performance at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.

Tyson himself is a known quantity by now. The only question was whether he’d gush, like he did with Mayor Rob Ford, or glower, as he did with CP24 anchor Nathan Downer.

For the record, it was the hearts-and-flowers Tyson at the ACC. So much so, in fact, that although patrons were lining up four deep at the bar to purchase drinks before the show, they might have been better off with a hit of insulin.

It’s surprising how few of them there were. In its theatre configuration, the ACC can hold 5,200 seats, but the upper level was closed down and no one was sitting off to the sides.

In fact, at the announced 8 p.m. start time, there were maybe only 400 people thinly scattered throughout the cavernous space. By 8:45, that number had more than doubled, but it was still a pretty poor showing.

Maybe they knew that before Tyson took the stage there would be an endless self-serving introduction by Ring TV’s Alexandre Choko, which amounted to an infomercial for his own book, The Future of Boxing.



Even Tyson later commented, “What the EDIT was Alex doing up there so long? Didn’t know this is a one-man show?”

But it was a boxing-savvy crowd. The weighty, elderly man next to me in a World Boxing Federation blazer and a jaunty peaked cap leaned over when a picture of Muhammad Ali flashed on the screen and whispered to me, “See this bracelet? Ali gave it to me on my 70th birthday.”And when Tyson introduced former champ Shane Mosley in the audience, the reaction was genuinely enthusiastic.

So a love of boxing united them, but that was where the generalities ended. The crowd was 80 per cent male, but that’s to be expected with someone like Tyson whose attitude toward women falls into the “Madonna/whore” camp.

Audience age ranged from 30 to death, but there were a few younger guys who had shown up with their dads for a bizarre bonding exercise.

Surprisingly, the crowd was heavily white, but it cut across all financial brackets, with a goodly sprinkling of well-suited men who looked they had just rolled down from Bay Street, after a tough day and a few martinis, while at the other end were greasy dudes with backpacks who might have made the pilgrimage from the North to the show.

Tyson onstage is a big, shambling presence, clown-like in a lemon yellow suit and white shoes, with a pink shirt and a floppy pink-and-white pocket square. He frequently shows us how badly he can dance and does impersonations of people in his life that are so broad as to be cartoonish.

But still, he holds us for the first third of the show as he catalogues his amazing journey from the slums of Brooklyn to the heavyweight championship of the boxing world.

This part is entertaining and enlightening, but before long we’re into much murkier territory with hate-filled rants about first wife Robin Givens and a truly tasteless anecdote about how he caught her fellating a very, very young Brad Pitt in the white BMW he had bought for her.

The audience started to split up at this point, with some sitting in silence while others hooted with increasingly raucous laughter. Things got courtroom-tense when he flatly denied he had raped Desiree Washington and then, truly muddled in a long section about how he lost his title and became a coke addict.

By now the evening was well past its advertised length of 90 minutes and even Tyson sheepishly said, “I’m kinda goin’ on up here,” and wondered what the show’s putative director, Spike Lee, would think of its current shape.

What’s most troubling is the way Tyson balances his misogyny toward all the “bad” women in his life against the saintly treatment accorded his mother, sister and daughter Exodus, all of whom died before their times.

And there’s the obligatory, “I’m trying to make the best of my life every day” speech that lets you know you can start fumbling for your umbrella.

At the end, everyone rose to their feet immediately, but Torontonians give standing ovations to anyone.

What’s more fascinating is that while a very small, hardcore clique rushed toward the stage to make contact with Saint Mike, the rest of the audience emptied the theatre in record time.

As Tennessee Williams once said, “Sometimes there’s God so quickly.”

I see no contradiction, people can be 4 deep at the bar even if the place isn't packed. It doesn't take long. Depend on how many bartenders there are and if there is a rush to the bar.

I am absolutely stunned that Jamaicans are taking up for this slime bucket. He is a thug who has been in and out of jail and a violent rapist.

There are Jamaicans who have been denied entry to Canada for FAR less.

I met one of my cousin in laws for the first time a couple of months ago. He has locks piled on his head , somewhat intimidating when you first meet him but he is a very sensible smaddy (Not saying that the 2 are mutually exclusive so don't jump dung mi t'roat.) He has no criminal record. He manages a reggae band and travels all over the world with them. He has been to Canada with them. Last time he was in the states he decided to pop up to visit friends and he was denied entry and deported.

So to use a modified version of this own words, how come this piece of trash is allowed into the country?

Give you one more example, for years Jamaican-Canadian rapper Michie Mee was not allowed to enter the USA. I believe she was finally permitted entry....and I can go on.

there is a set of guidelines around admissibility to Canada ..im sure as a convicted felon he had to get clearance...you should write to your MP to complain.

wonder why they booked the ACC if they only sold 800 tickets ..the could have cancelled the show if sales were that low
