kar·ma
noun\ˈkär-mə also ˈkər-\
: the force created by a person's actions that is believed in Hinduism and Buddhism to determine what that person's next life will be like
: the force created by a person's actions that some people believe causes good or bad things to happen to that person
The second definition of karma fits with the earlier link provided and the understanding many have of what karma means when used in common western parlance.
Karma literally means "deed" or "act" and more broadly names the universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction which governs all life. Karma is a natural law of the mind, just as gravity is a law of matter. Karma is not fate, for man acts with free will, creating his own destiny. The Vedas tell us, if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will reap evil. Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concomitant reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determines our future. It is the interplay between our experience and how we respond to it that makes karma devastating or helpfully invigorating. The conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and dispassionate reaction. Not all karmas rebound immediately. Some accumulate and return unexpectedly in this or other births.

With respects to reincarnation.
I do not accept the westernized interpretation of the bible, what many here would call Christian view or belief regarding the word of God.
The books now known as the Apocrypha ( Early Christian Scriptures not accept by the Roman Church - Western Church) are even more forthright in its pronouncement of reincarnation. Understand that many of these books are accept by Eastern Orthodox (Asia Minor) and Ethiopian Orthodox ( Africa) Christians both of whom are older than the Western Churches.
Now there are several verses in the bible that deal with reincarnation but this one will suffice here to demonstrate that reincarnation was an accepted part of Jesus early teachings
Matthew 16
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
