It's just not working out

So I am currently single, again. My one time boyfriend and I never really broke up but he distanced himself from me. I am tired of playing games with supposedly grown [censored] men. He was talking about getting his kids up here and I told him it would be easier to marry a citizen and his wife (which I thought would have been me) would adopt them. Ever since that he has been distant. And I have not been with him romantically for a couple months now. He calls occassionally and visited me once but other than that he has not shown any interest in pursuing a relationship with me. He has asked me when was the last time I got some, as if he expects me to be with someone but then I shut him down and don't pursue the conversation because I know he is just trying to get in my bed.

I am sick and tired of shady guys.

Mrs Marie, he treats me alright despite everything. He's a great friend and a great lay but I doubt we could ever maintain a good relationship outside of that. I don't wanna do the whole FWB thing because who's to tell how many other friends he is giving benefits to? But I could still use a good friend right now.

Sorry DebsinNY, it is obvious that you are feeling down &amp; disappointed about your expectations of this &quot;gentleman&quot; not being met. You are human and as a human you have the right to expect what you want <span style="text-decoration: underline">and</span> get it. The other side to that is that we may not always get what we expect from whom we think we should. The people we expect things from also have expectations of their own. Life is funny that way.

There is one thing that you said (uptop deh) that intrigues me, you stated that &quot;he's a great friend&quot;. <span style="font-weight: bold">If he was...then you wouldnt have made the post.</span> &lt;----think about that. If he was a great friend, you'd be able to maintain that friendship outside of a sexual relationship.

Of course you need a friend, you are entitled. <span style="font-weight: bold">Try being your own friend first</span>. You'd be suprised how others will come out of the woodwork trying to be yours then, too.
