Okay so I was on another board browsing and came across a rant about Chivalry and black men. (lack of)

So chick was ranting about how she went on a first date and dude didn't/wouldn't open the car door for her....

Then she says this

I think men nowadays are not being raised to have those gentlemen values and don't understand the importance of being a gentleman. Unfortunately, you can't do what you've never been taught to do.

I do that kind of thing but not because of any archaic notion of chivalry. It is because many women have small muscles so instead of watching them struggle, I merely take the initiative or we would be there all day.

yu know Sue..is true enuh....a bet if the man did open the door if har and she didn't even have the courtesy to reach over and open his side and him complain about that she would find an excuse why she didn't do it...awe bwoy...ppl fi know demself.

...this is like, soooo true! I remember, I think, &quot;back in the day&quot; before these keyless lock type thingies....that if ya wanted the woman to get in the car with ya, ya had to go over to the passenger side and unlock it for her....and then open it to make sure it was unlocked. That was the <span style="font-style: italic">ONLY </span> way you were going to get any.

I open and/or hold the door for any woman. Wedda she is mine or not...that's just common courtesy.

To step it up de man muss;

walk on the outside
walk infront down the stairs
walk behind when goin up de stairs

...car door - sure. If we in a rush she get hers and I'll get mine. Like mi bredda seh. If rain a fall den a diff story dat. Das why mi glad seh God gimme weh mi need and weh mi nuh waant. Cause half a de sittn weh some ooman galang wid my lady nuh do. Praise JESUS
