The Dravidian race consists predominantly of south Indians. They are characterized by their dark complexion, large foreheads and dark hair and eyes. Most of the parts of South India (Say 90%) are in tropical climate and by possession also they were engaged in Agriculture and other jobs they had to work under hot sun. The summer in these area are very hot and people have acute perspirations, due to which they had dark complexion. Unlike Europeans or Americans who are very fair due to climatic conditions, south Indians are dark. Even after generations their complexion continue to be dark. -

The main reason why I agree with the works of Diop on this issue is that the mixtures of African and Indian that I have seen in the Caribbean do look like Dravidians.

a no mi seh dat sukuna, a di person in the link. long story short, the dark-skinned dravidians are the &quot;negroes&quot; of india, differnt from the lighter-skinned indians who were descendants of the invading persians. the skin colour difference was of course exploited by the british, and so just as how you have some ethiopians claiming/defending the superiority of one skin colour, so you have with the indians in this matter of dravidian heritage.
