from di odda chread.. an American sistah said to me years ago, that any man who is NOT married it is because something wrong with him on the quiet...so noh ooman noh want him..as I stated also I agree...but I think it can be clarified to say...men who want to get married but don't.

She went on further to say that she believes this because if a woman is UN-married, it is NOt her fault, since women are not expected to do the proposing...it is the men who have to propose to a woman...and if they do and the ooman; even Glad-ys turn them down, or if it doesn't even reach that part...sinting wrang.

I think that must have been true one time but not now. Many single men and women me know are taking advantage of them independence and don't necessarily subscribe to the belief that marriage is a given, like back in the day.

I would propose to a man without batting an eye, if I felt him was the right one. In fact, me was going to propose to my man but him did it first.

I sort of agree with your friend's perspective in the sense that if he wants to be married and isnt because he is turned down...then he may need to do some re-evaluation of himself. But I will add that the same goes for a woman, too.

However, I dont suscribe to the belief that it is the man that has to do the proposing. A woman can and should ask if she feels so inclined.

Anyhow...I dont believe in the institution of marriage and have been living blissfully in sin fi going on dog years now, so my opinion might not count....

You know it's interesting.....my older cousin said EXACTLY the same thing about single, never married men over 40 ...exactly and EXACTLY the way you said it too. I argued wid her VEHMENTLY but eventually had to admit she was right. I have not found a single case like that when it didn't turn out that the man had something seriously wrong wid him.

Think of it....if these men can get NUFF women, then yes there must surely be something wrong wid dem fi TRUE.

- Family Man who is <span style="font-weight: bold">VERY TALENTED</span> but practically illiterate got over 40 women pregnant

- Bob Marley (who was<span style="font-weight: bold"> EXTREMELY TALLENTED </span>and who I love dearly) got so many women including beauty queens and the daughters and granddaughters of heads of state in so many countries fi drop dem baggy despite dat head a locks, de way im did carr imself and de way im did talk - even when he was dying he got a woman pregnant. (The baby was born a few weeks after he died.) I remember joking -&quot;It must be one a de nurse dem.&quot;

- de ugly man in Canada who just get convicted slept with with 11 women, convincing many of them to have unprotected sex, and give 7 of them AIDS

Never thought of it that way, but that is certainly food for thought..With all that is/was going on out there, with many men feeling that women are easy game, &quot;use them and leave then&quot; for they are not marriage material in their book, when in truth and in fact this is NOT the case...some of them are too busy playing the field and sowing wild oats as you suggest..so to use your rationale, if the women run around like the men, they get called all sorts of names, &quot;tramp&quot; &quot;ho&quot;...One of the worst &quot;names&quot; that could be pinned on a woman is 'OLD MAID'..which carries the stigma that nobody wants/wanted her for whateva reasons especially if she had never dated...and I still hear ppl whisper it behind these women backs...


some of these women might have just spent too much time in academia, and even turned down offers, but still got labeled, whereas if the role is reversed and the man choose to not marry after pursuing other dreams first, it is OKAY...

I don't remember if this woman had gotten jilted or what, but she didn't play to let her feelings be known,..as I stated, I tend to agree....if, if the man wants to be married, but cannot find a woman to satisfy his choices for a spouse [with the many<span style="font-weight: bold"> eligible</span> [good looking, professional, nice personality, charming women with just plain..good qualities out there] then something MUST be wrong with him...it could be simply that he is too picky picky, or something even deeper than meets the eye...if yuh get my jrift..

If he honestly wants one and can't find one then barring any exceptional circumstances like being an Asian man in a White area or being short, then there has REALLY got to be something wrong with him.
