It's my fault why he broke up with me

Paula met Peter last year, they are both from the same area and moved to the city. Paula was in an abusive relationship which she ended when she met Peter. Her and Peter started dating hot and heavy and moved in together.

Peter went home for vacation and was hoping to find work there and stay. Paula heard from one of Peter's friends that he said their relationship was over.

Peter came back to the city as he didnt find work at home and he and Paula got back together but maintained separate homes.

She has bent over backwards and put up with a bunch of unacceptable ish from him since they got back together. He thinks nothing of making plans with her and then not showing up. stuff like that.

Now yesterday, after making plans to meet her Friday and not showing up he broke up with her.

Now she says it's her fault, that she was having family problems and was treating him mean. Now she is BEGGING him to take her back.

What would you say to her?

I would tell her dont do it.
She needs time to meditate on what has transpired and just ask herself what is it she needs to learn from this experience.

I would tell her not to call him no matter how it kills her, knit, goto the gym, do situps, anything but dont call him. He will call (they always do)

If he wants her, he will come back to her no matter what.

You can tell her, but she sounds a bit obsessed. We all KNOW she shouldn't call. He sounds toxic. But to her he's everything... because she LOVES him.

In the end people do what they WANT to do.

In time she will hopefully see him for what he is.
