And those women who give those kinds of gifts are enabling manipulative behavior, perhaps expecting more commitment. Turn the situation around so that is the man doing the gifting and it still looks the same to me.

<span style="font-family: 'Comic Sans MS'">I dunno. Thoughtful gifts between adults who like and appreciate each other? For example: a good book, an original piece of art, an unusual bauble, stuff like that.

Things like rent money, and whatever else Phatz used as examples, just sound too manipulative/needy/just plain icky IMO. </span>
