... refuse to live within their means.

Living in a house they can't afford, driving a car they can't afford, then when the whole house of cards comes tumbling down they turn to you for financial help so they can continue to live beyond their means. Then when you refuse to help them it suddenly becomes "your fault" that they will lose their house/car etc... .

Now the friendship is over!

Well Milo those are friends you do not need, people who borrow constantly are peeps who live above their means. So!! good riddance I say when they try to act like it's your fault simply because you refuse to lend them.

I wonder if this inlcudes Granperes as me frequently used to borrow from him. <span style="font-weight: bold">Used to </span>is the operative word here. I quit doing that mess and manage my finaces better.

they could care less at the end of the day.

My cousin almost lost her house a couple years back because she help out her friend after she got married with a downpayment on a house that those two had no business trying to live in.

The girl told her a story with the bank and that my cousin would need to jst put the money in her account and when the mortgage is approved they would transfer the funds back. All now she cant hear from the girl and it was a large enough sum of money that she nearly lost her own house until her sister bailed her out.


Some ppl dont give a rat's butt the position their actions but others in They assume if you look like you have a little money cause you aint stupid with your OWN money, that they can walk away with yours and not feel like they did you any harm

I don't really know. They have expensive taste but they are always complaining about having no money. If I ever needed help I would never think of asking them because I know they are in deep debt.

What gets me is if you have a lifestyle that you can't afford, why not start to downsize and try to live in a manner you can pay for without getting in way over your head? I mean it's not rocket science!!!

I may eat chicken back and drive a six year old car while they eat fillet mignion and drive the latest models but at least I can pay my bills at the end of the month.

The shcoker was how cold they began treating me after I refused to help them. I guess in their minds I'm not a true friend.
