thank you. I would not hold on to a thing. He would have the ring back without question from me. I simply would not want it if the relationship is done.

I know ur girlfriend will do what she thinks is best, but I really never can understand women who hold on to engagements after the wedding is called off.....for any reason.

Guess she feels services rendered so keep the ring.......keeping the ring to me only shows that she is [censored] that her ultimatium backfired. For whatever reason he decided not to work it out.....maybe that was his ticket out and he jumped on it .......she should give it back.

well depending on the circumstances i coulda probably give it back without grace and wid rancor

but if i was serious about moving on and cutting ties, give it back i would.

OK, so it took me a while to get the full hundred, and even tho she held back the gist of the matter is this, she said that he keeps driving home from hanging out with his boys...ready? D.R.U.N.K.

She said that she is not even worried about him as much as she is worried about him taking out innocent folks as they go about their business. She has told him more than enough time that if does not seek help and stop risking the life of innocent folks and their young boy, she will NOT marry him and will NOT return the $10K ring that he bought her.

She gave him one more chance (as he requested) and he did it again so she said, hell no, you must go. She thinks he is being disrespectful and immature and she does not want to marry or live with a boy.

She has no plans to get back with him or give the ring back.

I would probably give it back if he was desperate and needed the cash, but otherwise him would not get it back.

For all those who say &quot;return the ring&quot;, should the person also return everything else that he bought her?

So, ceebee, you don't think that the person would be able to move on unless the ring is returned? Do you think that would be because of a bad omen or a curse or something that is associated with the ring?

no omen or curse. but if me nuh want u, why me woulda want u ring?

guess i just don't see the point. To me, keeping the ring is a way of retaining a connection with that person, <span style="text-decoration: underline">especially</span> if them want the ring back and is a bone of contention between the two of you.

I agree. I simply would not want the damn thing if I am not with the man. Changing them into earrings doesnt hide a thing. I still will think of the broken engagement each time.

I cant find the right words, becuase the phrase that pops into my head - if I typed it it would surely offend I that isnt my intent.

anyhow, if she wants to keep it and style them then she can do so.

but I dont class an engagement ring in the same category as other presents for obvious reasons, so why would she need to give back other presents he bought her?

She sees the engagement ring as pittance in comparison to the other things he bought her. The car, condo, trips, other jewelry etc., cost more than the ring she claims. Now the difference to me is the sentimental connection. Tho me no think he's asked her to return it, me think it might hold the most emotional value because of the way they were engaged and the meaning behind the ring etc.

Me feel that if him should ask for the ring back him should ask for everything else, because a gift is a gift. Is it the value that would make you return it? If so, what are your thoughts on the car, condo and other jewelry if they are equally priced?
