I don't think people fully understand how much power a person has once they crawl into your head...like the man who held the girl for 18 years.

Once they get control of your MIND, they no longer need a gun or handcuffs, or locked doors.

He had convinced her that this was &quot;natural&quot;, and that he was the proper man to &quot;break her in&quot; because &quot;NO ONE ELSE&quot; would EVER love her like he does...yada yada.... then sick as it may sound....women are forever attached in an unusual way to their &quot;first&quot;. Sick that it was your daddy, but as much as you try to deny it, your body is still geared to FEEL sexually, and you can fight it and fight it for a while, then physiology takes over. He had a lot going for him to keep this going this long, mind, body , and spirit.

Let's throw in the haze of drugs (she told you he shot her up), they can numb feelings of &quot;right and wrong&quot;.

When I was a guidance counselor...I once had a case where a young girl had had a baby by her father. He was locked up for it. She came to me one morning crying and asked to speak with me. She said that her father was about to get out, and that morning her mother had told her &quot;So the DCS people say you and your father can't live in the same place. My &quot;man&quot; is getting out soon, so looks like you and the baby will have to go.

I didn't believe her, so I called the mother, and she repeated the same to me. I called DCS.. The child ran away , taking the baby. The &quot;man&quot; came home. For about 3 months following I would call the mother and ask if she had talked to the girl or knew where she and the baby were? She was very cold and irritated when I called. She said that the girl had called her once from a phone booth ,and that they were &quot;ok&quot;, where ever they were.

On month 3 call, the mother requested that I NOT call her house again about &quot;that girl.&quot;

I never knew what happened to her.....and we want them to concentrate on Algebra 1.

Sometimes Sweets, no all the time, this is a life-long haunting thing. Something that one never gets over. If you look at Oprah, the pain of those days for her (though it was Uncles and other relatives), is evident. Remember she wrote a book about this, but never published it. The writing helps them to face what happened, and I might say, in some instances can be a service, because some of these mothers need to wake up and recognize the signs of what might secretly be happening with their children. (some of these wenches KNOW though and use their kids for bait to keep a man).

I assume that some on here will feel that she is sensationalizing this to boost the book sales. Trust me, that is a price too high to pay. I also hope that no one thinks she would make these things up. Child victims do sometimes lie, but 99% of the time they are telling the truth, and the most heartbreaking thing in my career was when the adults they trusted just blew them off on this issue.

All she is saying in all fairness is that there came a time when her father no longer had to coerce her or coax her, dare I say, there may have even been times when she might have initiated it, but you can't blame the victim. She might be the first person to be honest about this very taboo subject. You have NO idea how many others out there were forced down the same path.

YOu will have no idea how many others, whether they come forward or not, will identify with what she says. WHere as none of this will make it &quot;right&quot;, for many it may be a start toward some kind of healing, and often just knowing that you were NOT THE ONLY ONE, makes a vast difference.

That is another tool these men use, isolating you from the right feelings of society and making a whole new set of morals for you to follow that makes all of this &quot;ok&quot; and &quot;perfectly natural&quot;.

I just really can't sit by silently and watch McKenzie lynched for this one.

&quot;I am stunned by Mackenzie's terrible allegations about her father,&quot; Genevieve Phillips, who was married to John from 1972 to 1985, said in a statement to Oprah on Wednesday (the alleged affair began in 1979). &quot;I would often complain to John about her overly familiar attitude towards him and he would tell me that that was just her way. John was a good man who had the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. He was incapable, no matter how drunk or drugged he was, of having such a relationship with his own child.'


And Michelle Phillips, who joined then-husband John in the '60s rock group The Mamas and the Papas and was his wife from 1962-1970, said Mackenzie told her the news in 1997 - and then said she was joking.

You ever been sexually abused??? I have. You don't know until you are in those shoes. You don't know how someone can control your mind. Bigga.... I thank God every day that I never got involved in drugs. That is a lot in life that people could well do without. I don't doubt that she, Whitney, Robert Downey Jr. , and several others you can name have an endless battle with their demons.

I came in here to say that for all interested in this topic, McKenzie will be on Oprah this evening. Maybe you can judge for yourself.

Remember that most of the time, even AFTER all the excruciating pain of setting himself on fire, Richard Prior finally admitted that he was high as hell in all of those interviews he did about being OFF drugs.

Anyone see Whitney on Oprah. I personally give the girl a bly, but a girlfriend of mine swears she was high on Oprah. It's a matter of opinion. I'm just glad as hell that I am none of these people and have sometime resembling an normal and happy life. Pray for them, that is what I told my girlfriend I would do for Whitney, cause it is going to take God and them to ever get on with their lives.
