While his Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker has been enjoying showing off her surrogate twin babies recently, Chris Noth also has some happy tidings of his own.

The sexiest man on TV is officially off the market.

Chris, better known as the series' Mr Big, has just announced his engagement to long-term partner actress Tara Wilson.

The actor used a visit to his 27-year-old girlfriend's home country Canada to reveal the happy news.

The couple - who have one child together 20-month-old, Orion Christopher Noth - have been dating since 2004.

Love blossomed when Tara began working in the screen star's New York bar, the Cutting Room.

Unfortunately the 54-year-old doesn't have much time for wedding planning at the moment.

Cameras recently started rolling on the second SATC movie and he's rejoined Sarah, aka Carrie Bradshaw, and her Cosmo-sipping friends on set.
