She sure does not behave as a woman who've been abused. She had the nerve to talk about being a "role model" when she was on 20/20. She is actually feeding those who see her as a fraud, with this type of behavior.

Just spitting in the faces of Women's Lib, I think.

Why would anyone who've been abused go down this path? Enough already. Does she really think that this can continue?

Her "fame" is about to expire and she has absolutely no idea.

I wonder what the interview in the mag was about? If she is talking about her recent abuse case then the cover and that story line is a bit out of sync

Rihanna is a lovely girl that could have had on a top and still pull off a sexy pic. I am not sure why she needed to go topless

This is her 15 min, cause her singing career certainly wasn't going to last too long based on her vocal abilities.

That is the level of arrogance that made her felt that she could "attack" Chris and not get a whooping in return. Same arrogance got Tiger "caught". LOL!

I dont see the connection between her being abused and folks upset about her posing topless. She's got a great body, and she pushes the envelope in showing it... always has

Is it that people are angry that they felt sorry for her getting beaten and now this is a slap in the face (that she would degrade herself by bveing topless).

I think nudity/semi nudity is not as big a deal for the younger ones. They are all about tittilation, and have no qualms about it.

Talk more about why you feel offended by her cover.

Since this has turned into a confession, I will be first.

I am offended by her broadcasting her "need" to continue to be a role model as she searched for sympathy but now has no concerns for those "young" people. I am offended because she could make a more positive impact and all she is concerned about is parading around naked or half naked.

She is known to have Herpes, so the least she could do is be an advocate for its prevention.

Dunno, I just have an aversion to someone who is one minute screaming abuse and the next parading her body for all and sundry. It is almost like laughing in the face of people who've been truly abused. I know this might sound wrong but her actions remind me of someone who cries "rape" but lied about.

Having a nice body or being proud of it has no relevance, in my opinion.

Being in the public eye, she has a responsibility to set a better example, especially if she is looking to the public to be understanding and sympathic to her issues.

By the way, EVERYONE HAS A GREAT BODY and with the right airbrushing anyone can look like her. I always live by the fact that beauty is only skin deep but ugly and fraud goes to the bone.

I found a comment in Essence quite interesting the other day. They quoted Rihanna has saying "she had to leave Chris to set an example for her fans". The author of the article then went on to say that he found it odd that she "left" Chris on the dawn of her new album promotion as if its not her fans she really want to set an example for ..but she left him for her fans to buy the album.

He was trying to say she really has no intentions of being a role model and that was all PR talk. I found that interesting

Anyway aside from that - I am not sure what being proud of her body have anything to do with the price of tea in China. Are we saying that people who don’t pose topless hate their bodies? My premise is she didn't have to be topless...what statement is the pic trying to send? And yes Rihanna at this juncture is still blemished by her recent abuse scandal so it's not like anyone is going to see that pic and don’t think of that incident. Human nature

After Taylor Swift got humiliated by Kanye - her stock went up 200%. She was practically on every magazine cover after that and none of them showing her skin. Dignity perhaps? Pride perhaps? I think if she had posed half nude people would take a "second look" at her (differently). Some of the sympathy for her plight would have been lost. Just My opinion.
