I know lots of kids rocking the mohawk..not anything to do with rihanna. so until mi si de next side a dis kid hair, I will assume it's the mohawk. Her mom is kinda punk rock herself, so mi wouldn't be surprised by the hairstyleComment

I suppose the harder things get is the more justifiable the nudity.
As someone said above, "we" are not there yet. Black women have come a long way, but we are not at that special place YET, where "exposure" is seen as a positive means of advancing our careers, whether in the office or on the beach. Others do get away with it but sorry, as far as I see, it is not a good look for black women...not after we are trying as hard as we are to reverse the madness by promoting positive icons like Michelle O. Oprah etc.
Our young girls have been and will continue to be in danger of prying pedophiles. We absolutely cannot pass this type of exposure off as the new look. Unless we as mothers are prepared to suffer even more consequences.
There is a time and place for everything and I feel that such exposure being so close to her grovelling for sympathy and the place being GQ magazine is untimely and poorly placed.Comment

Let me be absolutely clear <span style="font-weight: bold">NOTHING JUSTIFIES BEING ABUSED</span>.
Now, can anyone see why some people might question her innocence/credibility in being a "victim" when she appears to be so disconnected, i.e. lacking in the power to restrain herself?

This picture is tastful and not at all offensive ( not in todays climate) personally I actually think Rihannas got more of a Body than a voice ( sori Rihanna) Shes got the spotlight she loves it, and shes there to make a career and (a living)
I think she should milk it before shes Sixty.
If she keeps it interesting & tasteful I doubt she'll regret anything, lifes for living isnt it?
As for being a role model for abused women why should she? Theres lots of abused women that dont fly a flag ( forever) they put their experiances behind them & get on with their lives - why shouldnt she be allowed to do the same when she wants to?Comment

To each their own. All I am saying is, people should learn to practice what they preach but I suppose people like Rihanna are exempted because they have a "great" body. She does not have to fly any flag. She is heading for a train wreck and as many of us do tend to do in our lives, we stand by and watch it happen and then we complain when there are fatalities.

Miranna I would be all in agreement with this except for the subject of this thread. She (rihanna) has repeatedely said in many interviews that she WANTS to be a role model.
Dats why mi rate PINK ..Pink sey (paraphrasing) - To hell wid every bady I will be who I want to be ..a rebel .. a kick@$$ take no prisoner kind of girl.. I dont want to be nobody's role model.
