Living one's life on the down low.

Years ago I use to work for this couple taking care of thier baby girl. The father worked at a university teaching dance, something in my mind told me he was gay, but I filed it away in my mind. His wife had her own business at home doing very well. They had just moved here from another state and the dad was getting restless and wanted to move again. Now they have two kids, he got another teaching job in another state so we gave them this big going away party.


Not even a year later one of my ex employer"s called me to tell me that the mom had moved back into the area with the two kids. He was going to stay where he was and they would share custody. Several years have passed and I ran into this woman at the mall. I remembered her face but I couldn't remember where I knew her from. Finally I remembered, she used to be live next door to my boss that moved out of town.

She asked me if I had heard about the couple. I told her yeah one of my ex employer's had told me they had split. Then she asked me did I know the reason they had split. I didn't know so she started chatting. Father had fallen in love with this guy and left her for him. What a hot mess.

He told her he just couldn't live a lie anymore. She did ask him when they first started dating was he gay. He swore up and down he wasn't. Now she doesn't want to divorce him because they are all on his health insurance. Lord

Then there was this woman who called the radio station crying. She said, her and hubby were in the car heading for work. He confessed that he was HIV positive, he has been on the down low for years. He got mad and left the car talking about she didn't understand his feelings, she should be glad that he confessed. The people on the air was shocked, I felt so bad why would this idiot tell her while she was driving.

She said her brother had just died from HIV and now this.

As a man, if you know u have feelings for men and the woman u with will never satisfy u an mek u happy, why not just leave instead of be on the DL. Even if you nuh waaan come out the closet, mek up some other excuse why u gotta leave an galang go be free fi frig whoever u want, whenever u want wid out mashup u SO, kids, family life and possibly bringing terminal diseases into their lives.

Mi know a couple weh dis happen to...the chick was pregnant and har SO was having unprotected sex with his male friend. The girlfriend got HIV and so did the baby...I mean..is batty dat good dat yuh cyaan consider de ppl weh love yuh an yuh owna dyam pikney

I woulda stop de cyar an draw mi lass an gi him 2 chap inna him head side right dere an den... I could care less if yuh waan pursue dem lifestyle deh but wen u put mi in danger... awwwwww hells no! SOMEBADDY GETTIN CHAP!

A lot of women know or must suspect on some level dowe... I think some of them go into denial cause it mek dem feel like dem fail as a woman if dem acknowledge it \o/
