During the years when I was not monogamous, the sexual issue of the day was Herpes, simplex type 1 and type 2. So I find it fascinating that some years later, it is still a hot topic.

From the American Social Health Association 's website I found good information about Herpes Type 1 and Type 2. Here's an interesting finding:
