A St Catherine man who was arrested on his honeymoon and charged with bigamy had his case adjourned sine die in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Michael Black was freed by Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green after the investigating officer, André Smith, of the Central Village Police Station, told the court the complainant in the case was abroad and could not return for at least six months.
RM Dunbar-Green informed the accused that if things change the case could be called up, but, he was free to go.
Black's appearance in court arose from an incident last year, when he was held on his honeymoon in St Ann after getting married to Paula Leville (an English visitor) while still married to Simone Whyte-Black.
After the wedding, the Registrar General's Department got knowledge of the unholy matrimony and informed the police, who discovered that Black got married to Whyte in 2007 and to Leville in June 2009.
