why do i feel this is unnecessary?
seems even sexist in a way...although i'm sure a few men have taken the woman's name

i mean it's cool if they want to do it but why should it be the norm?

i'm reading something about how tiger woods' wife said she would change back her name

when mi was gwine marrid mi did tell missa man seh mi naw change mi name him was from a very traditional family - except seh him daddy do more cooking dan him mother - so him cudden wrap him head rung it.

mi never waan change caw

- waapen when mi fren dem from high school a look fimmi. how dem a go fine mi? (dis is b4 facebook)
- mi name is pawt a mi identity. giving it up just rub mi wrong

but dat's just me. lots of women choose fi change names so di children and everybody else have di same name. den again i knew someone who kept her name and name di pickney demfirstname <span style="font-weight: bold">moddaname-fathername</span>.

u know my mother changed her name and it just didn't seem like a big deal to me when i got married.

if i had gotten married when i was a bit older, i probably would have hypenated or not bother change it, or at least think hard before me change it.

that custom is a relic from old times, back in the days when a wife was a husband's &quot;property&quot;.

in those days women were chattel, &amp; had no rights or independent identities, they were just an extension of the husband. they were even introduced in public as &quot;Mrs. Kenroy Jones&quot;, they were not 'permitted' even the identity of their own names...
